Biography

I am not a tax protester. If you are looking for constitutional arguments to justify the non-payment of taxes, you have come to the wrong blog. I am a business owner and enrolled agent who has come in contact with many who find themselves on the IRS' "bad side." I have found that many good people end up owing more tax than they can pay and that contrary to what many IRS employees may think most tax debtors are not criminals. Given the complexity of the United States tax code many Americans make honest mistakes. Others make bad decisions and are frightened and unsure about how to correct them.

It is for this reason that I formed a company called Effectur. Our company’s mission is to deliver peace of mind to our clients about this type of problem. I set out to find the best revenue agents and revenue officers from within the IRS who had compassion for the plight of many of the taxpayers that the IRS was forcing them to pursue (many IRS employees are good people too). These people are also either CPAs or EAs like me, are uniquely qualified because of their inside knowledge of the IRS, and have the same mission that I do--to provide peace of mind. We have now helped thousands of taxpayers in all 50 states.

I am writing this blog to talk about issues facing those who have been assessed taxes that they are unable to pay. Usually I will write about specific situations that I have seen. Sometimes I will write about actions or steps that the IRS is taking to collect delinquent taxes. Along the way I may express personal opinions about the fairness or lack thereof of an IRS policy or procedure.

This blog is not an advertisement or a corporate blog. Many posts will be aimed at tax problems that do not require professional representation. Still, I will refer to Effectur from time to time. The reader should be aware that I am biased about Effectur, because I believe we have the finest men and women working on our team, and I believe we offer the best tax problem resolution services available. Ultimately, however, my hope is that readers will find my blog interesting and that some of my postings may even help someone resolve a tax problem that has been causing them to lose sleep.
